General Information
1998 PORSCHE 911 C2S COUPE RARE! 1 OF 993 PRODUCED!
Finished in Arctic Silver and complimented by a black interior, this 1998 Porsche 911 C2S Coupe is a low-production model, and one of the last air-cooled Porsches ever made. The Porsche 911 Carrera 2S has the turbo look but with standard rear wheel drive for the purist who believes that a proper sports car should be driven by the rear wheels only. The Porsche 911 Carrera 2S is very rare and is quickly becoming a true classic.
#1353 is the last number in the VIN series; this car is #1311 showing that it is one of the last. Production date of 12/97.
Of all Porsche models, the Porsche 993 is the most celebrated. Most understand that the Porsche 993 was the “last air-cooled Porsche.” By this definition, many consider the Porsche 993 as the pinnacle of Porsche’s.
To date, the Porsche 993 remains a competent platform that is just as demanding to drive. The 1998 Porsche’s Vario-Ram Engine became a standard offering in this model. Vario-Ram adjusted the length of the air intake ducts according to engine RPMs and the car’s speed. This provided power up to 285 HP. Porsche 993s have an immense 19-gallon fuel tank, an efficient driver could take a Porsche 993 almost 500 highway miles with its 16/25 fuel economy. Porsche 993s were the first production 911s to feature a six-speed manual transmission. 993s do not have a traction control variant. Porsche was historically opposed to any electronic driver aids. Back then, drivers either knew what they were doing behind the wheel, or they bought a different car!
The last year point is made more significant as it marked the end of air cooled engines. To some very serious Porsche purists the changeover was a disgrace to 911 heritage.
